Vortex Gaming Rebranding Announcement

Greetings Everyone,

This is not an April Fool's Day joke or prank, you may have heard on our Discord announcements that we are officially rebranding the community to Shadow Studios.

This is a real announcement, and changes are already being done. We have finished all the changes on all of our servers that we are releasing this year including our highly anticipated PoliceRP Server later this month, which will be released on April 27, 2024, at 10: 00 am CST.

This website will officially be removed at 8:30 pm CST tonight, and all information that is on this website will be transferred over to our new website.

  1. All Jobs, the F4 Menu, and the HUD have been completely revamped.
  2. Salary has been increased for 1st-time players by 120x; The new starting salary is $250,000
  3. Vortex+ jobs have been added 
  4. Secret NPC's and Phrases hidden in the map 
  5. 4 New Dealers available with awesome vehicles to choose from 
  6. Reputation Upgrade (More info TBA Soon) 
  7. Increase the maximum time a player can be warranted. (Old: 60seconds; New: 120Seconds)
  8. 2 Racing Zones (Miniature and Grand Prix) Miniature Race is across from Spawn. Grand Prix is located over by the Gas station on the Outskirts of town
  9. Job Rules have been updated
  10. Salaries have been increased/decreased across all jobs
  11. Event Prizes have been added to the Pool (More info soon)
  12. Powers (Only given by Leadership) 
  13. A fire System was added with Random Fires going off
  14. New 911 System (When you do /911, it will automatically ask you several questions and what your location is. Those details will then be sent to First Responders) 
  15. Server Teleporters (Located in City Hall and around the map) 
  16. Lottery-- Try your luck at the Casino to win up to $1,000,000. You must spend at least $500.000 to play the lottery machines, though. 
  17. Tow Truck Revitalized
  18. Law System (Extra roleplay for Judge and Attorneys) 
  19.  Removed the Driver License System that was initially in place; however, if such needs arise where there are a lot of CDM cases, [then the Driver License System will be enabled to where staff will be the only ones allowed to give you a license to drive.
  20. Credit System- Players will receive credits at random times that they can use to exchange for points in the in-game store to receive perks
  21. Administration Powers- All Staff teams have been reviewed and given select abilities or powers.
  22. Event Changes- Events will be going off at random times. However, only SHR+ can host community-wide events and give away prizes. Faction Leaders or RP Events will still be allowed to be advertised as events.
  23. Server Reset—The server will be reset every night at 2200 or 10:00 p.m. No updates or changes will be made to the server during this time. We will NOT offer refunds during this downtime, as there will be automatic announcements before the reset happens.
    25. Heists—Players can now do Heists every 45 Minutes for up to a $25 million grand prize and buy a Heist House to use as their base.  To join a heist, you must go over by Secret Service Headquarters and look for the heist npc  to sign up.  You must have at least 4 people in a party to start a heist. Each player must pay $84,000 to join the list. You will have 10  Minutes to complete the heist. Players must NOT die during the heist, or else the heist will be forfeited, and all progress will be lost. 
  25. If you or a team member dies, disconnects during the heist, or runs out of time, you will AUTOMATICALLY lose the money and have to retry. Heists will be locked when the server is about to go down. Staff will NOT issue a refund for the money lost during the heist UNLESS there are network issues on our end. Leadership will decide on this.
  26. Parking Meters—If your meter runs out of time, your vehicle can now be fined or booted. Players must now pay to park in certain spots around the map. Warning: Failure to pay the fines can automatically result in a warrant being issued for your arrest. This will also come with a new job called Parking Enforcement.
  27. ALL Custom Classes and Factions have been marked down to 50% off. Do not order a Custom Class or Faction on our website. Please message a member of Leadership to let them know what you would like. However, this does NOT entail requesting any staff weapons or weapons from Vortex’s class.
  28. Purge: The Purge has been unleashed as an event for the Community. During this event, there will be no RDM or CDM rules. This event will automatically run every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am-1:00 pm CST. After this event is over, RDM and CDM rules will once again be enforced. There will be server messages when this is about to happen, and once it is over. There will also be contests that may be running during this event. Prizes and Rules are TBA 2 days before the Purge activates.
  29.  Players will now be able to complete daily missions. Players MUST log in and complete the goals daily to keep their progress. Not logging in every day may result in resetting the player’s progress. There will be new missions every day to complete, and they will automatically change at 10:00 am CST every day. Will you be on the Leaderboard for completing the most missions?
  30. With the new Character Creator, players can create their characters and change their appearance on the server anytime.
  31.  COVID-19 has come to Vortex Gaming. Players can now RP as infected players or zombies and infect other players. 
  32. Please remember that Assault on the White House is a temporary name and placeholder. The actual title will not be revealed until later; however, it is mainly constricted from what the event will be. 
  33. Something mysterious is happening in the Outskirts of town. Reports of people battling it out for prizes and a title are coming in. Will you claim the title and rule the town, or will you die in dishonor?
  34. Players must have at least 4 people on their team to do the special mission. Fail, and your entire team, including yourself, will pay the price. Complete this mission, and you will be significantly rewarded. (More information will be revealed at a later time)


Bug Fixes

  1.  Players can now properly use the doorbells and cameras at home. The weather system has been removed due to lagging on the server. The 911 response system has been updated for players to describe why they are requesting first responders accurately, and Dispatchers are now in the Police Department. Server messages have been reduced to not going off as often.

Hello from within the Vortex,

This is Vortex, Can you hear me from here? I'm trying to not go into the Void. 

Anyway, there is a new update today that is being released, as well as some SPOILER INFORMATION. 
From here going forward, important information such as; changes, updates, and important information will be highlighted in RED and in Italic.
We want to keep you up-to-date on what might be coming, so I may post about it on Discord, here, or even in my Office on Discord if you join my Lives that I will be doing.

Here is what is still in progress at the time of the update announcement: 

  1.  VIP+ Car Dealer
  2.  Vortex+ Car Dealer
  3.  Bwhitelist as well as Blogs (96% done, working on bugs)
  4.  Vortex+ perks, and jobs (👀).  
  5. As well as fixing some bugs and moving around some NPCs to better help achieve your RP experience and other miscellaneous fixes around the map that you might like.  



The following are what has already been accomplished, and some important announcements: 

  • There are items that are Perma propped around the map; ie: Whitehouse. The fence that is pre-built around the Whitehouse is not to be touched by any member of the community regardless of rank, I pre-built it as a wall for SS, President, VP, and Speaker of the House. 
  • There is a new feature outside of Spawn, and across from the Hospital called, Vortex Racing; Vortex Racing features the grand prize is $2.5 Million which will only allow 13 racers at a time. Keep in mind that this race is LEGAL, and has a grand total of 58 Checkpoints that will take you around the map. If you don't win the grand prize then you will still receive $100,000 for participating in the race.  (Note: Vortex Gaming Race is not to be abused in any way or form, meaning that you can NOT join a race if you currently have a Warrant out for your arrest, or use a Race to avoid any RP Situation. If you are using the race to avoid RP, you will be warned for; FAILRP.)  
  • NLR and several other rules will be WAIVED during this time, however, the majority of the rules will stay in effect even during the maintenance time.  
  • Really good news; all jobs will be unlocked as well as department leadership (with the exception of PD), ranks will be unlocked for players to test out the different departments and the different weapons that will be granted for you to have a chance to see what to look forward to, as well as (special vehicles for departments; 👀.)  
  •  Removal of the Driver License System that was originally in place, however, if such needs arise where there are a  lot of CDM cases, then it will be re-installed and there will be strict rules that will follow with it being re-installed.
  •  Increased the amount of money that you will earn as soon as you enter the game for the first time to a total of; $250,000.
  • Citizens will for a limited time, earn $400/per 60 seconds, this will run into September 30, 2022. 
  • Also, Perma-Propped Houses have been made a thing here at Vortex, if you didn't already see the post on the Custom Class/Faction Price Page that is on the website. Please check the rules page for the rules on the site!
  • Chop - Chop Shop has been added, (Look out on the outskirts behind where State and SWAT Headquarters are located)
  • All government vehicles will now contain police equipment within the trunk of their vehicles and also will have an AGC Computer as well.
  • FD Vehicles will now carry hoses on their engines and trucks.
  • EMS Ambulances and Suburban will now hold equipment in their trunks
  • Public Access has been removed from entering government property buildings in-order to help keep public server employees safe, if you are found on these properties where public access is not allowed, YOU MAY BE GOING TO JAIL FOR TRESPASSING!
